Ring Sizing
Are you curious how to size yourself for the perfect ring? First, pay attention to how your hands are feeling on the day you measure your finger circumference; sometimes your fingers may either swell or shrink when you’re feeling unwell, traveling, more or less active than usual, or have added something new to your diet. Try to pick a day when your hands feel normal to you before taking your measurements.
If you don’t have access to a metal ring sizer, this is the most reliable method I have used:
- Grab a sheet of paper and cut a strip of paper about 1/4 of an inch wide and a few inches long.
- Place the sheet of paper just below the largest knuckle on the finger you want to size and wrap it around so that the paper is relatively taut.
- Use a pen or pencil to mark the place where the paper just begins to overlap.
- Use a metric ruler to measure the length from the end of the paper strip to your mark. Ring sizes are generally listed in millimeters and you can convert it to US sizes using the following table:
- Most jewelry is sized in full or half sizes, but you will see some of the rings listed on my site in quarter sizes.
